The Primary task will be to managing tender processes, maintaining customer relationships, supporting technical queries, and coordinating internal functions to ensure seamless business execution. The role is specifically focused on handling key government and semi-government, and others within the chemicals domain.
Role & responsibilities
Tender Handling
- Manage and oversee government and semi-government tenders, ensuring compliance with submission requirements and timelines.
- Maintain and update customer portals for registration, prequalification, and documentation.
- Coordinate closely with the sales and commercial teams for timely and accurate tender submissions.
Customer Relationship Management
- Act as the primary contact for key accounts, building and maintaining long-term relationships.
- Conduct periodic client meetings, product presentations, and review sessions to understand and meet client requirements.
- Respond to customer inquiries and follow up on technical and commercial requests promptly.
Market Research and Analysis
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and client behaviour to support strategic planning.
- Identify new opportunities in existing and emerging markets through detailed research and data analysis.
- Suggest product positioning or marketing improvements based on market intelligence.
Technical Support
- Provide clients with technical insights on product specifications, usage, and compatibility.
- Collaborate with internal technical teams to resolve product performance issues and address customer concerns.
- Assist in product trials, demonstrations, and technical training sessions for clients when required.
Sales Forecasting and Reporting
- Assist in preparing accurate sales forecasts and market projections in coordination with the sales team.
- Monitor and report on sales metrics and performance against targets.
- Analyse data to identify gaps, opportunities, and actionable insights.
Team Collaboration
- Work cross-functionally with marketing, procurement, logistics, and finance to ensure smooth operations and order fulfilment.
- Participate in internal planning meetings, strategy reviews, and campaign development activities.
- Support the sales team with back-end coordination for customer-specific requirements.
Preferred candidate profile
- Bachelors degree in Chemical/Petroleum Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in chemical sales or tender handling.
- Strong knowledge of tendering platforms, customer registration, and qualification processes.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/CRM systems.
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
- UAE driving license is a plus.
